Education and Programming

The Wolcott House and Complex programs are thoughtfully designed to bring history to life through immersive, hands-on experiences for all ages. Offerings include guided school and public tours, historical talks, Scouting Programs, traveling trunks, and seasonal activities that can be tailored to fit group interests. Each program is engaging, relevant, and meaningful, creating lasting connections to the past.

School Tours

Students will experience early settler life as well as learn historical information regarding Native American culture and lifestyle.  School tours are offered from May through November.

Traveling Trunks

The traveling trunk program provides historical information on events, people, and places from the time of the Anglo-American entrance into the Northwest Territory, information on the lifestyles of the Native Americans of the area, ready-to-use activities, etc.

4th Grade History Pass

The Fourth Grade History Pass is an initiative by America 250-Ohio, the state's official commission for the U.S. Semiquincentennial celebrations in 2026. This program offers every fourth-grade student in Ohio free admission to participating history-related museums and sites when accompanied by a paying adult. The pass is valid through August 31, 2025, and aims to inspire curiosity about Ohio's rich history.

Scouting at the Wolcott Heritage Center

Scouting programs at the Wolcott Heritage Center give participants the chance to step back in time through hands-on activities, historical crafts, and interactive experiences. Scouts can explore Victorian life, practice skills like gardening or detective work, and connect history to their own lives in fun, memorable ways. These programs are designed to meet troop needs while making history come alive.
