Summer Camp 2025 at The Wolcott Heritage Center

The Wolcott Heritage Center's Summer Camp invites children aged 6 to 12 to explore Maumee Valley history over 4 days. Campers build friendships, work on projects, and learn about their community's history. Registration is limited, so early enrollment is encouraged for this enriching experience that fosters a love for history and community.

Camp is Monday - Thursday, June 23-26, 2025, 9:00am-3:00pm and includes age- appropriate games, old fashioned snacks, hands-on activities, & stories. Create many take-home projects. Brought to you by certified teachers of the MVHS education committee.

  • Experience daily life in the 1800s: Learn how early settlers did laundry, cleaned rugs and lamps, changed the feather “ticks” for their beds, made candles and soap, and carried out other chores.

  • Spend a day learning about Native Americans: doing tasks the Native Americans would have done. Experience food, games, and other craft skills of the Native Americans. Experience writing with quill pens, reading from McGuffey Readers, and doing math problems on a slate in an authentic one-room schoolhouse.

  • Explore transportation and communication with in the historic Train Depot and Caboose.

  • Hands-on activities with fiber production and weaving in the Farmhouse.
